What is Psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is the use of psychological methods, particularly when based on regular personal interaction, to help a person change and overcome problems in desired ways. Psychotherapy aims to improve an individual's well-being and mental health, to resolve or mitigate troublesome behaviors, beliefs, compulsions, thoughts, or emotions, and to improve relationships and social skills.
Here at Steiger Psychotherapy, I aim to utilize these methods to help manage your mental health concerns, provide you with a treatment plan that is individually tailored, and help you live the life that you deserve.

Jennifer Steiger
My journey to the mental health profession is unique. I have always been fascinated with mental health and psychology, however my love of music and education took me on a different path to start my career. For the first five years of my professional life, I worked as a music teacher in Montgomery County MD, teaching a variety of ages and backgrounds. As the years passed I knew in my heart that I wanted to pursue my childhood dream of helping individuals who were struggling emotionally, physically, and psychologically. When the opportunity came for me to reach this goal, I took advantage and completely immersed myself. Now holding the knowledge base and clinical training to help others, I want to provide clients with the road map to happiness, fulfillment, and success.
